Financing your surgery

First Health Finance began operating in April 2008. Located in the centre of Cape Town, and operating nationally, First Health finance offers medical payment plans to patients unable to afford a medical procedure, or where their medical aid does not cover the procedure. The offering is a specialised medical loan and is not in any way connected to a medical aid. As refreshing as this new offering is in South Africa, it has been available for many years in Europe, Australia and North America. FHF concentrates on three primary areas: Cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, dental procedures and corrective eye surgery.

The payment plan is affordable and flexible, and the amounts offered range between R6, 000 and R40, 000, however larger amounts will also be considered. We strive for a speedy turnaround time when assessing any application, and can often provide an indicative answer within the hour.

If approved, First Health Finance will pay the doctor and clinic on your behalf. The loan is then repaid over a fixed term, between 6 months and 30 months. There are numerous benefits associated with the product, for both patient and practitioner.

The patient need not worry about settling the practitioner, as FHF pays the practitioner and clinic on your behalf, prior to the procedure.

Please note - should you be approved for financing, you are not restricted to a single surgeon - you are free to choose which surgeon you want to go to. You are however restricted to the amount financed.
